Performance work that ignores the invoice is half the job. A page can be quick and still cost more every month than it needs to, and the two problems usually share a cause: work being done repeatedly that could be done once. An image transformed twice by two services that both bill for it is the common case.

The other half is cutovers. DNS, certificates and mail are typically owned by three different people, none of whom were told about the migration, and a certificate that lapses at handover can take a company off email while the website looks perfect. That sequence gets written down, with a rollback, before anything moves.
